At Murs Projects, we're always excited to share the latest developments in our construction projects, and our current residential project at 1 Lea Street, Croydon is one we are particularly proud of. This project involves a complete knockdown and rebuild of a home, and we’re using cutting-edge materials and methods to ensure that it’s not only modern and stylish but built to stand the test of time. Let’s take you through the process and highlight some key features, especially focusing on the Dincel Waterproof System, which will protect the structure for decades to come.
This residential home rebuild is progressing smoothly, with a solid foundation and advanced construction techniques setting the stage for a future-proof home. One of the standout features of this project is our use of the Dincel Waterproofing System, which guarantees zero leakage for up to 50 years — a major selling point for anyone looking for long-term durability and peace of mind.
Why Dincel Waterproofing Technology Matters in Home Construction ?
Waterproofing plays a vital role in safeguarding structures from water ingress, which can lead to long-term structural damage and costly repairs. For areas like basement walls and foundations, using the right system ensures a durable, low-maintenance home.
The Dincel Advantage: Long-Lasting Protection
Murs Projects exclusively uses Dincel Waterproof Technology, which guarantees zero leakage for up to 50 years. This advanced system includes:
Dincel Waterproof Warranty: Ensures watertight performance when installed per the Dincel Construction Manual.
Expert Installation: Performed by certified professionals to meet warranty standards.
With its durability and peace of mind, Dincel is the ultimate solution for homeowners seeking a resilient and maintenance-free foundation.
The Construction Process So Far
Here’s a closer look at where we are in the project and how we’ve been implementing Dincel’s cutting-edge materials:
Attach DWS to External Timber to Form the 100mm Deep Rebate: We began by attaching the Dincel Water Stop Accessory (DWS) to the external timber frame, which forms the 100mm deep rebate. This step is essential to establish the first waterproof barrier for the foundation.
Slab is Poured: With the DWS secured, we moved on to pouring the raft slab. This forms the solid base upon which the rest of the structure will be built.
DWS Injection Hose Pockets Are Opened, Cleaned, and Injection Hoses Placed: After the slab is poured, we opened the DWS injection hose pockets, ensuring they were cleaned and properly prepared. Injection hoses were then placed into these pockets to facilitate the waterproofing resin injection later on.
Installation of Walls, Including Injection Hoses Connected to Injection Outlets and Mounted on Internal Wall Face: Next, we proceeded with the installation of the internal and external walls. The injection hoses, now connected to injection outlets, were mounted on the internal face of the walls. This setup allows for seamless integration of the waterproofing system once the structure is fully settled. During this phase, we also placed engineer-scheduled reinforcement to ensure the walls have the necessary structural integrity to support the building as it progresses.
Concrete Filling/Placement of Self Compacting Concrete (SCC): With the walls securely in place, we filled the structure with Self Compacting Concrete (SCC), following the Dincel Waterproof Warranty (WPW) guidelines. SCC is ideal for this application, as it ensures an even, smooth finish making the walls both durable and watertight.
Waterproof Resin Injection at a Later Date - Once the structure has settled and the concrete has fully cured, we will proceed with the final step — injecting waterproof resin into the installed DWS system. This step will seal the walls and ensure they are fully watertight, providing a 50-year waterproofing guarantee.
The Key Takeaway: Choose an Expert Installer
While the Dincel system itself is top tier, the warranty and its long-term effectiveness are only guaranteed when the installation is handled by an approved Dincel installer. This is something that homeowners must consider carefully. At Murs Projects, we have the experience, training, and certification to ensure that the Dincel system is installed correctly, giving you a waterproof home that will last for decades.
